Kenneth Ray Rhame
Kenneth Ray Rhame, 79. of Maysville, Oklahoma, a former resident of this area, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. Rhame was born July 21, 1927, in Shelbyville as a son of the late Nancy Caroline (Buckner) and William Felix Rhame and had lived in Houston, Beaumont, Denver, Lubbock, Amarillo, and Ft. Worth.
He was a Merchant Marines veteran of World War II and retired from Gulf Oil after 35 years of service. Ray sepnd his life serving the Lord in Baptist Churches, serving as a deacon, music minister, choir member, and singing not only solos, but duets, trios and quartets.
He was married to Tera EASLEY in 1946 and she passed away in 1999. He married Jo Dane AUTRY in 2000.
Survivors: wife, Jo Dane RHAME of Maysville; three children, Cathy GALLAGHER, Chuck RHAME, and Mike RHAME; a step-son, Jeffery HARTLEY; eight grandchildren, Teri ROSALES, Kevin GALLAGER, Cody RHAME, Melissa RHAME, Jacob BLODGETT, Kendra BLODGETT, Conner HARTLEY, and Tanner HARTLEY; four great-grandchildren, Kayla GALLAGER, Nicholas ROSALES, Alina ROSALES, and Jerrod BARDIN; two brothers, Joe RHAME and wife Polly and Felix RHAME and wife Doris; and sister, Myrtle SLADE. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Essie WATSON, Elbert Guy RHAME, Ory RHAME, Nonnie JOHNSON, Dovie HUGHES, Earl RHAME, Sidney RHAME, Ferol RHAME, and Burk RHAME. Funeral services were held Dec. 26 at the First Baptist Church of Maysville. Graveside rites are set for 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Bluebonnet Hills Cemetery in Colleyville, near Ft. Worth. Memorials may be made to Bright Stone, 4276 Warren Rd., Franklin, TN 37068 of the Lottie Moon Mission Offering at First Baptist Church of Maysville, OK 73057. Services were under the direction of Winans Funeral Home.

Class of '45
The 1945 graduating class of Hemphill High School (who meet every two years) held their reunion commemorating 57 years at Bryce's Landing Saturday, June 22, from 1 pm until 4 pm. Those attending were, from left, front: Allie Bell Solly Bennett, Bernice Travis Smith, Jonnye Ware Huff and Dorothy McDaniel Gooch: back, Wilburn Easley, Knox Clark, Marvin Jordan, Ray Rhame, and Robert F. Gooch. Spouses attending were LaNorma Easley, Gussie Clark, Mildred Jordan, JoDane Rhame, and J.D. Huff. Special guests were Mr. and Mrs. J. Lloyd Woods of Teneha, superintendent and teachers of the class.
