Alef May Seale
Alef May Seale, 100, of Hemphill died at 11:20 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 1997, at Hemphill Care Center.
She was born April 24, 1897, in Hemphill as a daughter of the late Fannie Rowena (White) and William Archibald Buckley and was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Seale was a retired seamstress.
Survivors: six grandchildren, Hugh Byars of Nacogdoches, Stephen Simcoe and William Simcoe, both of Lufkin, Jane Sutherland of Newark, Texas, and Patty Cornwell and Vera Vess, both of Rhome, Texas; a sister, Clemence Erwin of Hemphill; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Hugh Marble, and a daughter, Maxine Cornwell.
Funeral services were held at s p.m. Monday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. Clarence Howell and Bro. Vance R. Purtell officiating. Interment followed at Hemphill City Cemetery.
