Back in Time January 7, 1998, Page 4 1988 Ten Years Ago Sabine County Chamber of Commerce announced the recipients of several awards which would be presented at the annual banquet. The Citizen of the Year award went to Blanche Toole. Sabine County Reporter April 16, 1997, Page 4 Back in Time 1996 One Year Ago Blanche Toole of Hemphill received the DRT Star Award. The award was presented to her by Martha Vickers at the James Frederick Gomer Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas meeting. The award honors individuals who have put forth great efforts for the DRT cause and preservation of Texas history. Sabine County Reporter February 6, 2008 Blanche Toole Blanche Toole, 95, of Hemphill died January 31, 2008 at Twin Lakes Care Center in San Augustine. She and her husband, Comet Toole, were long time residents of Hemphill and were owners of the old Plymouth Dealership in Hemphill for many years. She is survived by three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and one son-in-law, Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 8 at 11 a.m. at Starr Funeral Home Chapel in Hemphill.
