  Notes	The 1840 Shelby County Census shows Yost, William 1-0-0-0-0-1/2-0-0-0-0-1 William YOST was said to have been the son of George and Betty Yost of Holland. Judy Jones, however, notes that even though this is found in the Payne book; she suspects this may not be accurate. She was, as of July 2009, working on verifying whether or not this was correct. William Yost was the grandfather of her great-grandfather George Thomas Yost. Her Yost's (George, Katherine and children) were in Jessamine Co, KY for a time. They apparently originated from Maryland. It appears that William T. Yost and wife Matilda Payne came from KY to MO with Payne's. Later, several more Yost brothers came into Missouri. Kathleen Wilham's notes indicate that the Yost family were "Moravians, United Brethern."
