He writes that "the earliest Irwin in the Bible was Joseph K. Irwin, b. 31 Oct 1831, he married Jane Lewis on 20 Nov 1851. Jane Lewis was born on 3 Aug 1831. They are listed in the 1870 census for Northumberland county. Elijah Lewis, age 70, father of Jane Ann (Jeanette) Lewis was living with them.
