  Notes	Duncan Banner July 2, 2007 George M. "Pete" Daniels Dec. 2, 1924 - July 1, 2007 George M. "Pete" Daniels, 82, of Duncan, died Sunday, July 1, 2007, in Duncan Regional Hospital. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Buddy Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Duncan Cemetery under direction of Carter-Smart Funeral Home. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pete was born Dec. 2, 1924, in Duncan, to E. C. and Angie Blackerby Daniels. He graduated from Velma High School in 1945. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He worked for Skelly Oil Co., and retired from the gas plant in Velma. Pete married Betty Gentry on June 10, 1949, in Velma. She preceded him in death Dec. 18, 1991. H married Katherine on June 6, 1992. Survivors include his wife, Katherine of the home; a son, Greg and Judy Kay Daniels; a stepson, Jimmy Nix and Tina Bigham; a daughter, Angela Daniels: a sister, Opal Baum; grandchildren: Jeramie Daniels, Ashlie Driver and Travis Daniels; step-grandchildren: Joe Dan Bigham, Jacie Bigham, Jenna Bigham, Celes Sutton and Kyla Sutton: and a great-grandchild, Allyson Driver. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, W. E. and E. C. Daniels; a step-great-grandchild, Jannie Jo Bigham; and a sister, Aleene Sanner. Bearers will be Dale Peters, Norman Condit, Rusty Harris, Wallace Mooney, Wesley Beavers and James McMurtrey. Honorary bearers are the Pottither Men's Sunday School Class and Troy Gildon. She will graduate this spring. Mr. Daniels graduated from Velma High School in 1943 and served three years with the U.S. Marines. He is now employed by the Nichols-Duncan Drilling Company.
