- Mildred passed away at 1:30 AM in the Sabine County Hospital after an illness.
She had lived in Beaumont for twenty five years and worked as a bus driver for the Beaumont IDS. After retirement, she moved back to Sabine County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pineland and had membership in several clubs and organizations including the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She served as a 4-H leader in Jefferson county for many years. She also served as an election official for Sabine County.
Preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Troy Tatom;survivors include two daughters; Elaine Henry and Nancy Shackelford; three grandchildren; Luke and Taylor Shackelford, Adrienne Doner; and two great grandchildren, twins; Tatom and Colton Doner; one sister; Jean Cordray, one brother; Norman Boyett.
