  Notes	From "The Fighting Men of Texas": 1st SGT Emilio (Emelio) R. Garcia, son of Mrs. Rosa Garcia, of San Antonio, was born April 6, 1920, and volunteered for the Army on Aug. 3 1940. Assigned to the 27th Inf. Div., 251 F.A. Bn., and was trained at Ft. Sam Houston. Served overseas from June, 1944, to Dec. 12, 1945, in New Guinea and Luzon. Awards: Asiatic-Pac. Cam., 2 Stars; Amer. Def.; Philippine Lib.; Amer. Thea. Cam.; Bronze Star; Good Conduct; Victory. He came through his term of service without being wounded. Honorably discharged, 1945.
