    • The 1910 Schenectady County, NY Census shows Isadore and Lena had been married for 28 years, making the year of their marriage ca 1882.This was shown as the first marriage for them both. Lena was shown as having given birth to 16 children in total, only 12 of them still living in 1910.

      Isaac, Lena, and the four eldest children in their home at the time of the 1910 census were all shown as born in Hungary, with their native tongue being German. Isaac immigrated in 1892, with his wife and four oldest children arriving four years later, in 1896. Isaac and son William were both shown as naturalized citizens by 1910.

      Isaac was a merchant of meats, son William was a butcher, and daughter Sadie worked as a bookeeper at the market. Everyone in the family was shown as speaking English.

      At the time of the 1920 federal census, Lena was widowed, and living on Sowden Avenue, Schenectady, with 8 of her children. Son Arthur was a butcher, daughters Sadie and Hattie were working as bookkeepers, and daughter Rosie a cashier at their meat market. In 1930, she and four of her younger children could still be found in Schenectady. All four children worked at the market in the office.
