She was born October 22, 1948, in Crockett, Texas to Weldon Beasley and the late Helen (Withers) Beasley. Mrs. Smith was employed as a secretary for the First United Methodist Church in San Augustine. For 21 years she owned and operated a day care center. She was a member of the San Augustine County Cowboy Church and the Red Hat Ladies. She is survived by her husband Fred Smith of San Augustine; daughters Melissa Steph and husband Chris of Tatum, Texas, and Kim Mullins of Mansfield, Texas; son Roy Lynn Smith and wife Laurie of San Augustine; grandchildren Jacob Steph, Will Mullins, Hannah Steph, Jeremiah Steph, Tyler Smith, Titus Smith, Bailey Grace Smith; father Lewis Weldon Beasley of San Augustine; brothers Mike Beasley and wife Pam of Tyler, Texas, and Larry Beasley and wife Karen of San Augustine; mother-in-law Bennye Richards Smith of San Augustine;sister-in-law Connye Smith of Crested Butte, Colorado; along with a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Dan Fussell, David McEachern, Steve McGowen, Rodney Faussett, Phil Sublett, and Bryan Clay. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in San Augustine with Bro. Wallace Edgar and Bro. Chris Burris officiating.
