- Linda Sellers Chrisman (lchrisman12@yahoo.com) emailed, in March 2014, "I would like to suggest that Sarah Joriah McLemore who married John Sellers was a daughter of Amos and Equilla/Aquilla McLemore. Sarah Joriah was born in 1806. On the 1850 census, she was listed as born in Tennessee. She married John Sellers in Perry Co., MS, around 1819. They lived in Covington, Jones, Perry, and Smith Counties. In 1818, John Sellers and Joel Holbert with Moses McLemore as assignee, purchased land in Perry Co., MS. Several of Amos and Equilla/Aquilla's children named their daughters Joriah: Moses, Richard, and Beatrice Elizabeth. In 1860, John McLemore's child Anna Maria McLemore Knight's children were living in the home of John Sellers. Sarah Joriah McLemore Sellers was believed to have died in 1859. Sarah Joriah McLemore Sellers named one of her daughter's Aquilla."

Just had the best, most rewarding Christmas present ever. I could shout from the rooftop. Had to share with the group here. While doing some genealogy research on Christmas night, I had to go on my "tree" on ancestry.com. Ancestry has a new feature in its DNA section called "Circles." Within Circles, it matches the DNA one may have with others. For the last two years I have worked on my 3rd great-grandmother's parentage. I've worked hard to find proof or a source which would spell it out in plain English. I'd put together a good case for whom they might have been using their children and descendants. Well, tonight confirmation of my theory. I matched with several of my 3rd great-grandmother's siblings' descendants in Circles!!!! Sarah Joriah McLemore Sellers was the daughter of AMOS and EQUILLA/AQUILLA MCLEMORE. I matched with their children's (Moses, Richard, John, Amos, Elizabeth, and Lavenia) descendants!!!!! The only way I could have matched was for Sarah Jori
ah to have been a sibling of Moses, Richard, John, Amos, Elizabeth, and Lavenia with a common ancestor --- Amos. This was the best proof I could have asked for. To all my Sellers and McLemore kinsmen --- yay us!!!!!
