The Rev Jack Lee, Missionary Baptist Minister of Jasper, will officiate. Burial will be in the Redland Cemetery between Bronson and San Augustine. Nephews will serve as Pallbearers. He died about 11:00 PM Wednesday, January 26, 1972 in Buna Medical Center after a long illness. A native of Newton County, he lived in San Augustine a number of years and lived in Kirbyville for the past 30 years. He was a member of Beulah Springs Missionary Baptist Church and a retired farmer. Surviving are his wife, Mrs Ethel Forse Phelps; two sons, Arnold Phelps of Kirbyville and Wayman Phelps of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two daughters; Mrs Elora Burgay of Kirbyville and Mrs Dera Burns of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
