- John W. Clark writes that she was a daughter of Nathaniel ROBINS and Eliza jane DURHAM. He also writes that "It was told many times by John Henry Clark that in Sept. 1875, in Erath Co., Tx near Harbin and Dublin, that Evergreen Robins helped her mother serve the evening meal, then slipped out the back door with her riding clothes under her house dress and met John Henry. The rode horseback to the Indian Territory where they were married (near Marietta, OK). Evergreen's father started out after them with a shotgun, the the longer he rode the calmer he became and soon returned home in a jolly mood."
