- Kathie Duty emailed in January 2016 that Selma Louise "searched for information on genealogy YEARS ago beginning in the 1960s. She shared so much with me through the years."
In the obituary of her brother-in-law, William Howard "Punk" Love, she is referenced as "Selma Garrett." Her FindAGrave memorial pages shows she was buried next to her first husband Russell Clark Shambaugh. He was also preceded in death by her second husband, the Rev. Vernon Garrett, who died in 1991.
