  Notes	From FindAGrave: Services for Buren Edwin "Mort" King, 79, of Falconhead, Burneyville, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 19, at Falconhead Christian Fellowship Chapel, Burneyville, with the Rev. Lamoin Champ of Nocona, Texas, retired pastor of the First Baptist Church of Burkburnett, Texas, officiating. Mr. King was born February 20, 1924, in Oklahoma City, the son of Creed H. Sr. and Dora Ann Bolding King. He died Sunday, August 17, 2003, at his residence at Falconhead. A resident of Falconhead since 1987, Mr. King had previously lived in Burkburnett for 22 years. He and Allie Mae Hanks were married on November 14, 1942, in Lawton. A graduate of Lawton High School, Mr. King attended Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge. Initially enlisting in the Army Air Corps on December 11, 1942, he retired from the Air Force on February 1, 1975, having accrued a total of 32 years of military service. During his military service as an aircraft maintenance technician, Mr. King rose to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant receiving numerous awards and decorations. He was a veteran of three wars, World War II, Korea and Vietnam. His military career served as an inspiration for his two sons, who followed in his footsteps and served in the military as pilots. Following his military service, Mr. King worked for Northrop Aviation for 12 years. A licensed pilot, he was a member of the Mt. Scott Masonic Lodge #540 of Lawton and had received the 50-year Service Award. Mr. King was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Burkburnett and the Falconhead Country Club. His hobbies included playing golf. Mort was faithful in every duty, commitment and endeavor - husband, father, brother, patriot, pilot and golfer. Although it breaks our hearts to see him go, we know that his rest is peaceful and his reward will be sweet. May the winds be beneath his wings forever and his golf game in heaven yet another hole-in-one. "God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered 'Come with me.' With tearful eyes we watched you slowly fade away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, your hard-working hands put to rest... God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best." Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Allie Mae King of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne E. Sr. and Cookie King of Peachtree City, Georgia, and Robert C. and Ann Kristin King of The Woodlands, Texas; a brother, Creed H. King, Jr. of Falconhead; three grandchildren, Wayne King, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia, Scott King of Peachtree City, and Georgia and Kori Chisham of Alexandria, Virginia; three great-grandchildren, Brody King and Kasey King of Peachtree City, and Lauren King of Atlanta; and his faithful dog, Chipper. Mr. King was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers were grandsons, Wayne King, Jr. and Scott King, and nephews, Gary Tubbs, Melvin Tubbs, Terry Moore and Neale Mathis. Honorary pallbearers were David Chisham, Hector Favreau, Garland Pool and Dan Sheehan. Interment with full military honors was held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 19, in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Ardmore, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
