Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Newton City Cemetery. A native of Merryville, Louisiana, he had lived in Kirbyville 12 years and was a retired Education Coordinator for the U.S. Government. He was also a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Sybil Slaydon of Kirbyville; sons, Thomas Slaydon and John Slaydon, both of Merryville, Louisiana; stepson, Randy Rogers of Texas City; daughters, Virigina Pavlik of Katy and Patricia Colbert of Missouri City; stepdaughter, Ernette Hall of Lorena; brothers, Archie Slaydon of Frisco and Sam Slaydon of Lufkin; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. http://www.silsbeebee.com/news.php?viewStory=36
