      Devera Sargent, 92, of Chireno died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998, at Twin Lakes Care Center in San Augustine.

      She was a longtime resident of Chireno.

      Survivors: a son, Royce C. Sargent of Chireno; a daughter, Mary Ann Strickland of Chireno; a sister, Dorothy Stone of Austin; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

      Funeral services were held Feb. 19 at the Cason, Monk & Metcalf Funeral Directors Sunset Chapel in Nacogdoches. Interment followed at Lower Chireno Cemetery in Chireno.

      Memorial Contributions can be made to the Lower Chireno Cemetery.
