    • LaVerne Elliott, 93, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Sunday, November 1, 2020 at Sabine County Hospital in Hemphill, Texas.

      LaVerne was born in Milam, Texas on March 29, 1927 to George Boyett and Fannie Gray Boyett. She was a lifelong resident of Sabine County and a loving mother and grandmother.

      She is survived by her grandchildren, Chastiti Horne and husband, Tony Houck, of Houston and Chandra Bonine and husband, Jarod, also of Houston; five great grandchildren, Presley Houck, Kate Bonine, Payne Houck, Barrett Houck, and Cullen Bonine; brother, Jimmie Boyett and wife, Wanda, of Hemphill; sisters, Iva Dell Bush of Center and Willa Dean Walton of Lufkin; and son-in-law, Harold Horne.

      She was preceded in death by her daughter, Peggie Horne; brother, Eloy Boyett; and sister, Maudine Wallace.

      Graveside services will be begin at 2:30 p.m Thursday, November 5, 2020 in Gravel Hill Cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro. Floyd Wright officiating.

      Visitation will be held prior to services at Starr Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
