      A May 22, 2019 story on page 1 of The Sabine County Reporter-titled "Hemphill High School announces 2019 honor graduates" noted that "Abigail ADKINS, the 17-year-old great grandaugther of C. D. and Corene Boyd of Milam, is this year's salutatorian. She has attended HISD 13 years and has a weighted ranking point average of 101.4909. Adkins will attend Texas A&M University and major in biochemistry and genetics."

      OBITUARY

      Mr. C.D. Boyd of Milam, Texas, passed away Monday, January 13, 2020, at his residence at the age of 84 years, 1 month, 5 days.

      He was born December 8, 1935, in Rosevine, Texas, to parents W.C. and Lula (Peveto) Boyd and had been a longtime area resident. He retied from Santa Fe Railroad in 1991 after several years of service as an agent/clerk. Mr. Boyd was an avid outdoorsman and member of Rosevine Baptist Church.

      His survivors include his wife, Corene Townsend Boyd of Milam, Texas; daughters, Abigail Adkins of Milam, Texas, and Belinda Brady and husband Albert of Gatesville, Texas; sons, Jeff Boyd and wife Rexcine of San Augustine, Texas, David Boyd and wife Gia of Milam, Texas, John Boyd and wife Karen of Palestine, Texas, and Brent Boyd and wife Teri of San Augustine, Texas; sisters, Evelyn Taylor and husband Tommy of Dallas, Texas, Billie Greer and husband Carl of Houston, Texas, and Ann Pugh of Red Springs, Texas; a sister-in-law, Shirley Boyd of Lufkin, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, W.C. and Lula Boyd; brother, O.D. Boyd; granddaughters, Amanda Adkins and Candace Boyd; a great-grandson, Ethan Boyd; and brothers-in-law, G.C. Langley and Tommy Pugh.

      Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas, with Bro. Skipper Eberlan and Jeff Boyd officiating. Interment will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery, located on FM 1592 in Sabine County, Texas.

      Lunch for the family will be served following the service at First Baptist Church in San Augustine.

      Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2020, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home.

      Pallbearers: John Curtis Boyd, Jacob Boyd, Michael Boyd, Cody Boyd, Sam Ferguson, and Josh Ferguson.
