      In her annotated trascription of the Gravel Hill Cemetery, Kay Parker McCary indicates he had a military marker "Texas Pvt Medical Department WW I", and that he had a double headstone with Mae Butler. FindAGrave notes that he died from a gun shot wound to the head from suicide, and cites his death certificate.
