  Notes	The Sabine County Reporter June 4, 1997, Page 12 Carrie Emma Hayes Carrie Emma Hayes, 84, of Hemphill died Friday, May 30, 1997, in a traffic accident in Rosevine. Her daughter, Doris Jean Mason, also died in the accident. She was born Jan. 6, 1913, in Pineland as a daughter of the late Nola and John Ransom Burns. Mrs. Hayes a homemaker, was a lifelong resident of the Hemphill/Pineland area. Survivors: husband, Albert A. Hayes of Hemphill; a step-sopn Alvin A. Haeys of Silsbee; a sister Josephine North of Waller, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Doyle G. Strickland. Joint funeral services were held for she and her daughter at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro.Homer WIlliams and Bro. Vance R. Purtell officiating. Interment followed at Pine Hill Cemetery in Sabine County. (Transcribed by Melinda McLemore Strong, March 2011)
