  Notes	The Sanford genealogy incorrectly calls Phebe Newton the daughter of Joseph Newton; she was the daughter of Jonah Newtown and Phebe Platt. The error is based upon a misinterpretation of a deed: "All the children united in a deed conveying their rights in the estate and lands of Joseph Newton, late of Milford, Feb. 10, 1808, to Jonah Newton (Milford Land Record 24:363 & 561)." Joseph Newton, who died at Milford 11 November 1807, was Phebe's brother, not her father, and the Jonah Newton to whom the land was transferred was probably her other brother.
