    It appears that at least 33 of the 36 adults in this Sunday School class were directly related, through either blood or marriage, to the Striffler, Benkelman and Helwig families who emigrated together from Erie County, New York to Tuscola County, Michigan beginning in the 1860's.

    PLEASE HELP US IDENTIFY THE UNKNOWN INDIVIDUALS.

    Minerva Helwig was identified by her granddaughter, Shelly de Beaubien. Marjory Schwegler Battel had instead thought this was Ethel Striffler.

    The Kill Kare Klub was a social group with chapters throughout the midwest, whose members gathered monthly to participate in skits, games, and lively conversation.
