CLINTON (NC)- Mr. Owen Preston Rich, 82, of 3830 Bass Lake Road, died in Plymouth, Friday, February 23, 2007. THE funeral will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Elizabeth Baptist Church with the Rev. Roger White officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Born in 1924 in Sampson County, Mr. Rich was the son of the late L.L. and Ida Rich. On Dec.15, 1949, he married the late Doris McLemore Rich. He was an active member of Elizabeth Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon and a member of the Building and Grounds Committee. He was a farmer. He is survived by two daughters; Angela Rich Mallette and husband Pat of Greenville and Audrey Rich Outten and husband Dana of Plymouth; one sister Ellen Hollingsworth of Roseboro; four sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Rich, Lellon McLemore, Brenda McLemore, Hazel Bullard and husband Roland; one brother-in-law, Lynwood McLemore and wife Marilyn; and four grandchildren, Catherine Rich Outten, John Preston Outten, Michael Anthony Mallette and James Patrick Mallette. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bruce Rich and Norman Rich, and two sisters, Maybell Green and Estelle Rozier. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Home Care & Hospice, 216 Beaman St., Clinton, NC 28328 or to the Patients Nursing Home Auxiliary, 111 Hilly Circle, Plymouth, NC 27962.
