  Notes	Charles E. "Shorty" Hildabrant, 72, of Orangefield, passed away Tuesday at the Dubuis Hospital in Port Arthur. Born to Charlie and Mamie (Deeson) Hildabrant, he was a lifelong resident of the Orange area, was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and the Orange Gun Club. He retired as an engineer with the Texas State Highway Department and was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Walter Hildabrant and his sister, Irene Lowrey. He is survived by his wife, Margie Hildabrant; sons, David Coleman and Douglas Coleman; daughters, Debbie Welch and husband Billy, Dewisa Derese and husband Herbie and Tracey and Chad Dowdle. Grandchildren, Randy Coleman, Brad Coleman, Brien Coleman, Brandon Coleman, Zach Welch, Misty White, Erica Gill, Chad Derese, Forrest and Brittany Dowdle. Five great-grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren. His military marker, per photo shown on FindAGrave, listed his armed service as "SP4 US Army."
