Kennon Birdwell
Kennon Birdwell, 77, of San Augustine County, died Friday, March 28, 2008, at a Lufkin hospital.
Born Oct. 10, 1930, in San Augustine County as a son of the late Florence (Hardy) and Enlow Birdwell, he was a longtime resident of San Augustine County. Birdwell was a farmer/rancher and member of Rosevine United Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline (Oliver) Birdwell of San Augustine County; sons, Kenneth Wayne Birdwell and wife Debbie, Michael Enlow Birdwell, Marlon Odessa Birdwell and wife Karen, and Doyle Dwayne Birdwell, all of San Augustine; grandchildren, Keven Wayne Birdwell and wife Katie of Denton and Kimberly Rene' Tarver and husband Burl, Kellie LeAnn Birdwell, Steven Michael Birdwell, Christopher Lee Birdwell, Rebekah Nicole Birdwell, Samuel Luke Birdwell, Shelby Danielle Birdwell, and Brooke Bailey Birdwell, all of San Augustine; a great-grandson, Brandon Keith Tarver of San Augustine; brothers, Winfred Birdwell and wife Vivian and Carl O. Birdwell and wife Helen, all of San Augustine; and sisters, Bertha Mae McMurry of San Augustine, Ruby Murphy of Willow, Alaska, Margie Nell Hildebrandt of Orangefield, and Blanche "Sissy" Neal and husband Gail of McKinney.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Norman Birdwell and Steven Birdwell; and sisters, Audrey Drawhorn and Mattie Lou Breaux.
Funeral services were held March 31 at Rosevine United Pentocostal Church in Rosevine with Pastor Gordon Simmons and Bro. Glenn D. Morton officiating. Interment followed at Chinquapin Cemetery in San Augustine County.
