He was born March 6, 1917 in Broaddus to Sam C. Beard and Mary Ann Mundine. He worked in real estate sales and was a member of Bellaire Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, World War II. He was an Elder, Bellaire Church of Christ and Aggregate (40+ years) Alief Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Beard of Houston; son, Barry Beard and wife, Kay of Houston; grandson, Samuel Carter Beard of Houston; sister, Rosalie Octavia Beard Burns of Broaddus; and numerous nieces and nephews along with many brothers and sisters in Christ.
