  Notes	Robert McLemore Butler writes that Haywood was the son of Amos McLemore b. 1813 and the brother of Lofton. He was a Private, Co B, 2nd Battalion, N C Troops. Born in Sampson County and was by occupation a laborer prior to enlisting in Cumberland County at age 17, August 17, 1863, for the war. Present and accounted for on company muster rolls through December 1864. Admitted to hospital at Wilmington February 18, 1865, and was transferred to another hospital February 20, 1865. Could his middle name have been EDWARD?
