      Thomas S. Easley, age 92, of Hemphill passed away Thursday, January 29, 2004 in Hemphill.

      Easley was born May 15, 1911 in Sabine County as the son of the late Hattie Virginia (BECKOM) and Artie O. EASLEY. He was a lifelong resident of Sabine County and was a carpenter.

      Survivors include: wife, Callie Mae EASLEY of Hemphill; sons Arvin EASLEY, Don EASLEY, and Jimmy EASLEY, all of Hemphill; daughters, Johnnie Faye GODSEY of San Augustine, Jimmie HIPPLER and Martha GRIFFIN, both of Hemphill, and Dianne SHORT of Pineland; 20 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.

      Funeral services were held Saturday, January 31, 2004 at Strickland Chapel Church of God on FM 2024 with Bro. Vance PURTELL and Bro. Joe EBARB officiating. Interment followed at LOTT Cemetery. Starr Funeral Home Inc., Hemphill, directors.
