  Notes	According to Bettye Bragg Wagstaff, the Steele family had an interesting naming pattern. The boys were given first names that began with "A" and Parcout as a middle name, that being the maiden name of their grandmother. The girls were given first names begininng with "Z.". Susan Ann Steele was probably named after her grandmother Susannah Parcout Steele. He was said to be the son of Stephen Parcot Steele and Susannah McCarty. He died during the Civil War.
