    Notes 
    • He was baptized Hugo Anton Hamouz. After graduating from Milligan High School in 1922, he first worked for a garage. In 1929, he left for the State of Washington. He later moved to San Francisco, where he repaired automobiles as a partner in a garage. In 1942, he joined the Air Force. He was stationed in the African and Italian Theaters, in the ground maintenance division. After his discharge in 1946, he returned to California and was employed by United Airlines. Anton missed his friends and family in Nebraska, and spent most of his vacation time in Milligan. (Milligan, pp 283-284).
