  Notes	John came to Nebraska while still a toddler, and grew up in Milligan. At age 16 he went to work for the County, and then for W.A. Biba Construction for some 17 years. After his marriage, he lived on farms near Milligan and Friend. John and Agnes moved back to Milligan in 1958, where John opened the Halama Blacksmith and Repair shop with his son. (Milligan, 280).
