    Notes
    • Seeking additional information on GABRIEL 'GABE' SIMS BOSWELL, my great uncle. He was born in Gordon county, Ga. in 1850. Around 1869 the family moved to Texas. They lived in Lamar, Fannin, Hopkins counties. Somehow Gabe ended up in Sabine county, Texas. He married Mary 'Mollie' Speights in Orange, Texas in 1882. Mary was daughter of the prominent Joshua Speights. Gabe and Mary lived in Logansport where I understand he had a mercantile business. When Mary died in 1886, Gabe rented out the business and moved to Many. I would like to learn more about his mercantile business, such as where it was located, how long he was the proprietor, etc. This is new information to me and am curious. Also about 1899, Gabe left his family and went to Old Mexico for about a year....I wonder does anyone know anything about this? My relationship to Gabe is that his sister, Fanny (Boswell) Cook, is my great grandmother.
