  Notes	At one time he owned the land where the Jasper County Court House now stands. (White and Toole, p 72). From FindAGrave: Thomas E. Wood, Sr. was the son of Charles A. Wood and Elizabeth Muse. His middle name was probably "Edwin" since he is listed by that name in the 1850 census and "Edwine" in the 1860 census. His son, Thomas E. Wood, Jr. went by "Edd." He married Nancy Meigs Sep 28, 1865 in Jasper Co, TX. They were the parents of four children. Thomas E. Wood, Sr. died in 1877 at the age of 33 years, leaving his wife, age 29, with four young children to care for. Nancy married second William Wesley "Wes" Dalley on Sep 20, 1879 in Sabine Co, TX. Nancy Dalley is buried in Brookeland Cemetery, Brookeland, Sabine Co, TX. It is not known where Thomas E. Wood, Sr. is buried. He could be here in the Wood Cemetery near other family members in one of the many unmarked graves, or he could be buried elsewhere in San Augustine or Sabine County.
