The Lincoln Sunday Journal and Star, published the same day, noted that "Miss Marjorie Schmidt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Schmidt of Friend, and Alfred Bartu were married June 3 at St. John's Lutheran church in Cordova. Rev. Gerhard Mueller officiating.
