      Guinn Thomas 'Barney' Williamson 1923-2009

      Funeral for Guinn Thomas "Barney" Williamson, 85, of Decatur was to be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at the First United Methodist Church in Decatur with the Revs. Johnny Irish and Roy Spore officiating. Burial was to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
      Williamson died Thursday, March 26, 2009, in Bridgeport.

      Born Dec. 7, 1923, in Decatur to Homer and Ruth (Taylor) Williamson, he married Margaret Douglas Usry Feb. 24, 1979, in Decatur. He graduated from Texas Tech with a chemical engineering degree and was vice president for Ingersoll-Rand of Houston. He was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Decatur and was a member of the Wise County Council for Alcohol and Drug Abuse.

      He was preceded in death by two sons, Wayne and Scott Williamson.

      He is survived by his wife; two sons, John Tally and wife, Cathy, of Decatur and Rick Tally and wife, Carol, of Fort Worth; a daughter, Sharon Cox and husband, Danny, of Arlington; three grandchildren, Jennifer Vaughan and husband, Gabe, of Little Elm, Jason Tally and wife, Crystal, of Decatur and Chris Courtright of Fort Worth; two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Ethan Tally of Decatur; and a niece and nephew.

      Pallbearers were to be Dwight Reeves, Gary Shelton, Mickey Doyle, Mike McQuiston, Ronnie Walker, Chuck Heaberlin, Jeremy House and Gordon Hofstra.
