      Audie Rae Smith, 87, of Kirbyville, Texas died Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at Jasper Memorial Hospital.

      Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Zion Hill Cemetery in Jasper. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

      Born Sept. 25, 1929 in Hemphill, Texas to Minnie Elizabeth Strickland and Lynn Machett, she had lived in Kirbyville 20 years and was retired custodian with the Kirbyville School District.

      She was preceded in death by her husband, Ferrell Smith

      Survivors include sons, Ferrell L. Smith, Jr. and Debra of Huntsville, and William Dewayne "Bill" Smith of Kirbyville; 2 sisters, Nora Lee Clay and Gene of Lufkin, and Bonnie King of Kirbyville; and 2 grandchildren, Wendy Smith Dulcome and Larry, and Cindy Smith.
