  Notes	Funeral Services for Hollis F. Powell, of Brookeland will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper with burial to follow at Brookeland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 27, at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper Hollis died at Park Wood Place in Lufkin on Sunday, May 25, 2014. A native of Browndell and resident of Brookeland, Hollis retired after over 35 years in the Maintenance Department at The Texas Department of Highway and Public Transportation. A longtime member of over 50 years of The Brookeland Masonic Lodge #935, he served as its Worshipful Master for several terms. He enjoyed gardening and raising cows. He is the last of his immediate family, Hollis is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by two wife's Ruth Miller Powell from 1946 to 1990 and Maurice Hanks Powell from 1991 to 2012.
