  Notes	The Sabine County Reporter November 17, 1999, page 16 Novie Mae Smith Novie Mae McNaughten Smith, 89, of Hemphill died at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Sabine County Hospital in Hemphill. Mrs. Smith was born Dec. 25, 1909, in the Fairdale community as a daughter of the late Elisah and Alma (Dainwood) McNaughten and was a lifelong resident of Sabine County. She was a retired grocery store owner ande a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church. Survivors: daughters, Bobbie Martine and Patsie Pearson, both of Houston; three grandchildren, Taska Fields, Sally Hill, and Chuck McCary; and two great grandchildren, Jason Fields and Lindsey Fields. Funeral services were held Nov. 11 at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. Charles Spears officiating. Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Sabine County.
