      Shay Delon Davis Felts, 96, died Saturday morning in the Hemphill Care Center. He was born in Sabinetown, TX, to Walter Elbert and Caroline Gooch Felts. Shay worked for Gulf Oil as a machinist for over 35 years. After retirement he moved back to Hemphill from Port Arthur. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Hemphill Post VFW, and the First United Methodist Church in Hemphill. Mr. Felts is survived by his step-daughter Patsy Reed of Sonoma, AZ, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wives, Thelma Juanita Duddie Felts and Rebecca Evelyn Felts; two brothers, E.C. Buddy Felts and Benton Peanut Felts; his sisters Eula Wood and Lola Smith. Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 8:00 PM, Monday, January 30, 2012, in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, TX. Funeral services will be at 2:00PM Tuesday, January 31, 2012, in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Hemphill Cemetery. www.starrfuneralhome.com
