Notes	In a family history prepared by his niece, Katherine Allen Tirado, he was instead shown as being born on April 21, 1842 in Albany, Georgia. White and Toole show him as a son of Rev. William Maund. "The Maund brothers, Hardie, Wm, and Matt, came to America and also rec'd Crown Grants of land in Va. Rev. Wm. Maund (the son of William) and his wife Angelina moved to Alabama then to Jasper County, Texas. He organized and was pastor of the first Baptist Church in Jasper." They further note that he "Became active in politics and served Sabine County in the State Legislature for a number of years. He was Sabine County Judge for 17 years and postmaster of Sabinetown for 10 years." In her annontated transcription of the Hemphill City Cemetery, Kay Parker McCary shows, in error, that he was a son of William L. and Susan J. Maund. William L. Maund was actually his older half brother, and Susan Josephine Cowart Maund his sister-in-law. On his FindAGrave memorial, created by A. Liem, Henry Clay Maund is shown as a "Son of Rev. William W Maund and Caroline Kirksey [nee Young]. Half-brother of William Lott Maund, first Mayor of Center, Shelby Co, Texas." This corresponds with census records.
