    Notes
    • According to Augusta Jesse Buchholz, Amelia married a Macholic (sic). Jo Peck indicates that they lived in Cassville, Wisconsin. Sandra Everett Sauceda, Amelia's great granddaughter, writes that "every MACHALLECK in this country is desended from them . The only member of my immediate family left that I could ask questions of married into the family and doesn't have any answers either. She did remember visiting the Bossert's in Wisconsin however." [Email from: sandrasauceda@yahoo.com to Melinda Strong, August, 2003]

At the time of the 1920 census, Amelia was living with her daughter and son-in-law, Augusta and Claude Dietrich.

Sandra also provided the following obituary that was published in the Michigan City (Indiana) News-Dispatch on January 17, 1930:

Mrs. Amelia Machalleck, 1121 Cedar Street, passed away at 11 o'clock Saturday morning, following a few hours illness. Death was due to apoplexy. She was born in Wisconsin (sic) on June 10, 1852, and had lived in Michigan City for many years. Her husband died several years ago. She is survived by two sons, Joseph Machalleck, Niles, Mich., and George of this city and four daughters, Mrs. Joseph Kamm, Buena Vista, Ia., Mrs. Claude Dietrich and Mrs. Harry Schultz, this city and Mrs. Barbara Everett, Niles, Mich., and eight grandchildren. • The names of the children Mary and Andrew JESSE, are based on list prepared by their granddaughter, Augusta Jesse Buchholz. Augusta's granddaughter, Fern Falkenstein Bengelsdorf, has the original list, and gave a copy of it to Dorothy Ball Williams. It APPEARS that George and Anna were the oldest children, and Amelia the youngest. This seems logical since George and Anna appear to have been the first to emigrate. The birthdates of the other children are ESTIMATED based on this assumption. If they were not listed in birth order, this is likely incorrect.
