"Rhea" Patton will be Saturday, May 9, at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church of Ardmore. Dr. Alton Fannin will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Craddock Funeral Home. She was born July 23, 1938, at Duncan, to John V. Gentry and Allene Riggs Gentry. She departed this life on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at her home. Rhea was married to Jim Patton on July 17, 1974, in Ardmore. She had worked for the County Court Clerk's office, First Federal Savings and Loan and had retired as branch manager for the First Community Branch Bank on Broadway. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, where she had sung in the choir for 20 years. She was also a member of the HCE Triangle Group. She is survived by her husband, Jim of the home; her mother, Allene Gentry of Velma; a daughter, Renee Bailey and husband, Terry, of San Antonio, Texas; a son, Kent Pogue and wife, Sandy, of Velma; stepdaughter, Sherry Patton, and stepson, Gary Patton and wife, Nadine, all of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters: June McNeill and husband, Perry, of Denton, Texas, and Frankie Sims and husband, Bob, of Davis; five grandchildren: Zac and Adam Pogue, Coby, Taylor and Colton Bailey; two step-grandchildren: Matthew Patton and wife, Jessie, and Stephanie Smith and husband, Jesse; and a great-grandchild, Jacob Patton. Pallbearers will be Harlen Seeliger, Lyle Jerome, Jerry Sutton, John DeHart, Zac Pogue, Adam Pogue, Coby Bailey and Terry Bailey. Honorary bearers are Don Howard, Perry McNeill, John Anderson, Creede Speake, Bob Sims and Bob Drake. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to Cross Timbers Hospice, 207 "C" Street NW, Ardmore, OK 73401. Online condolences may be made. Gentry will be honored at a reception from 2 to 4 pm April 15 at the Velma Baptist Church. John and the former Allena Riggs were married April 16, 1934, in Duncan. They are lifelong residents of Stephens County and now live on a ranch east of Duncan. They have three children, June McNeill of Stillwater, Rhea Patton of Ardmore and Frankie Sims of Davis.
