  Married: Ancestry.com Virginia Marriages, 1740-1850 shows Betsy Hicks, Female to Alexander Marshall, Male, 21 Dec 1810, Bedford, VA. James Hix was (the) surety at marriage of Alexander. (Ralph Marshall, p 16). At the time of the 1860 Federal census, Alexander and Elizabeth were living in a household of three, Junius Marshall listed as head of household, and Alexd. and Elizabeth the only other residents. After Elizabeth Hicks death, Alexander was said to have married second on 2 November 1865, Nancy J. BROCK.
