| Gentry, Sallie Status: Located; Sallie was listed in "History of Johnson Co. TX" as one of the first students to attend the Oakland College, which was chartered Nov. 2, 1866. Unfortunately, Sallie became the first person buried in the new Oakland Cemetery next to the school. People who later canvassed the cemetery for the genealogical society were unable to read Sallie's death date but it was later posted as: GENTRY, Miss Sallie A. 29 Jul 1856 14 Sep 1876.
The year of death above is difficult to read, but it appears more likely to be either 1860, making Sallie only four at the time of her death, or 1880, making her 24.

| Gentry, William G., ca 1870-1880 William G. Gentry was a Baptist Minister on the frontiers of Tennessee and Texas, and as was noted by Ken Harvey, "Frontier settlers demanded personality rather than diplomas from the men who called them to God. Kentucky was famous for the pathological intensity of the religious revivals that shook the populous at the turn of the century. Revivalists knew their hell intimately---geography, climate, and vital statistics---and painted the sinners fate so hideously that shuddering crowds surged forward to the bushel-box alters to be born again."

| Gregor and Schwegler Gathering, ca 1920's This snapshot was labeled by Lena Mark Schwegler as "Schwegler Folks at Laura Gregor's Farm near Puslinch, Ontario."
Maggie Bethel had the following comments about this snapshot: "Woman on the right - Louisa Benkelman Schwegler, 5th woman - Alice Ross Schwegler, 6th woman from right - Kate Schwegler Klinkman. I'm thinking a couple of the men are Will and Ben Schwegler -- either the two sitting in front or the man standing between them, but the shadows from the hats are such that I can't tell who is who. Will might be holding one of his sons? I don't see Lena in the picture and since Alice is there, it is a safe bet Will has the boy. The pose of the first man reminds of Fred Gregor -- but I suppose that is too much to assume."
