At the time of the 1920 census, he was living in Bakersfield, California, with his divorced sister, Ethel HOWARD, and niece Velma. His occupation was listed as "Fireman, Railroad." They lived in between the Mexican Colony on Railroad Property and the Mercy Hospital.

George married Sylvia Susan Underhill on 29 Jun 1925 in Bakersfield, Kern County, California. Sylvia was born on 7 Mar 1903 in California; died on 8 Jul 1992 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

William married Sarah Francis Kuykendall on 30 Dec 1879 in Lyndon, Osage County, Kansas. Sarah (daughter of Franklin Kuykendall and Mary Jane Elliott) was born in Mar 1858 in Centralia, Marion County, Illinois; died on 24 Dec 1910 in Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas; was buried in Osage City, Osage County, Kansas. George Benson Kuykendall, M.D. has differing dates of birth listed for the children of Sarah Kuykendall and William Ramsey than those shown by Keith McGuire. It is assumed that Keith's dates, received by him via correspondence with the family, are more accurate. On page 242 of Kuykendall's book the children are listed as "Charles, born September, 1881, live at Trail, Oklahoma; George, born April 30, 1886, lives at Bakersfield, California, Grover C., born January 22, 1891, Osage City." The biggest discrepency is the name of their third son, Kuykendall showing him as Grover C., but Keith McGuire reporting him as Claude Arthur. Claude Arthur Ramsey died young, perhaps explaining how Kuykendall missed him. Also missing from Kuykendall's list is daughter Ethel May Ramsey, married to a Grover C. Howard. Perhaps this accounts for the confusion, especially as the date of birth of Ethel May Ramsey (Mrs. Grover Cleveland Howard) is January 21, 1891, the date that Kuykendall is showing for the erroneously listed Grover C. Ramsey.

In the HISTORY OF THE KUYKENDALL FAMILY book, Lee Kuykendall is quoted as saying: "My father's father, my grandfather's name was FRANKLIN KUYKENDALL; his wife's name was MARY JANE ELLIOTT....FRANKLIN KUYKENDALL, my father was born October 17, 1834."

Lee Kuykendall apparently was misquoted, as he was the son of Franklin and Mary Jane (Elliott) Kuykendall, not grandson..

In another section of the HISTORY OF THE KUYKENDALL FAMILY, both E.G. Kuykendall of Carmi, Illinois (p 240) and John Kuykendall (p 241) list Franklin as the son of NOAH KUYKENDALL.

At the time of the 1850 White County, Illinois census, Franklin had been orphaned and was living with his older brother, Alfred. In 1860, he was married and living with his wife and children, and 67 year old Lucinda Bradshaw from Kentucky. They were living next door to another Bradshaw family.

The relationship of Lucinda Bradshaw to Franklin and Mary Jane is not known. Note at the time of the 1840 census that Lucinda was living in between Benj. Elliott and John Elliott. Perhaps the three of them were siblings?
