Hazel Martha Payne, born Dec. 31, 1924 in the Hope community to E.L. and Minnie Alexander, died March 11 1999 in Oklahoma City. She married Harry Carl Payne on Aug. 20 1948 in Wichita Falls, TX. She was a retired food service provider and a member of the Missionary Council for Church, and a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include a son Larry C. Payne of Comanche, a daughter, Marilyn Wetmore of Oklahoma City, a sister Pauline Middleton of Waurika, grandchildren, Miki Dawn Barton of Clarksville, KY, Bethany Wetmore of Oklahoma, Jon Edgar, Melvin Bullard, Larry Payne, Bill Wetmore, Preston Byford, Charles Hayes and Sammy Dunn,great-grandchildren McKayla Barton and Jessica Barton. She was preceded in death by her husband. Funeral services were held in the Morehead-Goetz Funeral Home Chapel in Comanche with David Hughes officiating. Burial was in the Hope Cemetery.
