Described as "of Marlow" on marriage. No children were born to the couple. His name was spelt "Haycroft" in the index to the marriage records. Lewis Adair Payne states quite categorically that it was in fact Haycraft.

Hugh married Effie Mae Payne on 18 Jul 1909 in Marlow, Stephens County, Oklahoma. Effie (daughter of Samuel Marshall Payne and Olivia McClanahan) was born in May 1883 in Texas; died about 1963; was buried in Tonkawa, Kay County, Oklahoma. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

He and Effie may have separeted prior to 1930, as only he and 16 year old Payne are listed at the time of the 1930 census.
