Robert Dean "Bob" Slezak, 85, of Crete, Nebraska, passed away on April 26, 2021 at his home. He was born March 6, 1936 near Milligan, Nebraska to Frank E. and Ruth M. (Domling) Slezak. Bob graduated from Milligan High School in 1953 and then enlisted in the United States Navy where he served from September 10, 1953 to February 12, 1957.

He married Irma Jean Loukota on December 28, 1957 and attended college in Chicago for 2 years. Bob worked as an insurance adjuster for EMC Insurance Company. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crete and the American Legion in Milligan. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Irma, infant brother: Roger, brothers in law: Emil Steinacher and Gary Frankforter, sister: Darlene Vodicka, nephew: Rick Krupicka, and sister in law: Sylvia Slezak.

Bob is survived by his son and daughter in law: Mark and Twila Slezak of Bartlett, TN, daughter: Barbara Slezak of Crete, siblings and their spouses: Norman and Harriett Slezak of Stanardsville, Virginia, Shirley Steinacher of Geneva, Evelyn and Charles Krupicka of Milligan, Linda and Henry Lopez of Wilber, Judy and Douglas Turek of Geneva, Franklin "Butch" and Karla Slezak of Phillips, Beverly and Loren Filipi of Milligan, brother in law: Darrell Vodicka of Geneva, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Milligan American Legion. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Wenceslaus Church in Milligan. The service will be livestreamed via the Kuncl Funeral Home website (for access click on the Facebook icon at the very bottom of our homepage at the service scheduled start time). Burial will follow at the Bohemian National Cemetery in Milligan. No visitation. Honorary Pallbearers are: Bob Machacek, Joe Vnoucek, John Becker, J.J. Dineen, Sherman Havel, Bill Slezak, Rex Steinacher, Joseph Slezak, Mark Reinch, and Brian Green. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
