    Find A Grave, Memorial ID 54708446, shows him as a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sandifer. He appears to have been married twice, first to Edna L Gerald (1883-1917) and later to Vernon Gupton (1890-1973).

    He is also shown on this website as a son of Jesse William Sandifer (1809-1878) and Missouri Mariah Bishop (1814-1889).

    Sandifer Rites Held Thursday
    Wife of Late Confederate Soldier Was Mother of McComb Resident

    Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Sandifer, 89-year-old mother of Bob Sandifer of McComb and wife of a late officer in the Confederat army, were held at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Hartman funeral home chapel in Brookhaven.

    Burial was in Hollywood cemetery at McComb where Mr. Sandifer has been buried since his death about 20 years ago.

    Mrs. Sandifer died about 7 p.m. Wednesday at the home of a son Norse Sandifer, at Silver Creek, Miss.

    She had been in fair health during a visit in McComb about six weeks ago but about a week ago her condition began to decline.

    Officiating at the last rites were the Rev. J. B. Hunt, assisted by the Rev. W. S. Cameron and the Rev. Charles Daniels.

    Formerly Nancy Reed, Mrs. Sandifer was born at Wesson, Miss., and about 60 years ago was married to James Sandifer.

    Surviving besides the sons at McComb and Silver Creek are one other son John of Quinton, Miss.; one daughter, Mrs. Jessie Cunningham of Annison, N.C.; three sisters, Mrs. Mollie McCullough of Los Angeles. Calif, Mrs. Belle Davis and Mrs. McCollum of Trout, La.

    Also, 23 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren survive.
